CREATING POSITIVE CHANGE FOR ADULTS, CHILDREN & YOUNG PEOPLE

ABOUT MY WORK

'When you change the way you look at things, the things you look at change'

- Dr Wayne Dyer

I am a qualified Child and Educational Psychologist and an integrative therapist, with a broad and varied practice of over 15 years working with adults, teenagers and childen to fulfil their potential and overcome barriers.

I use an integrated, evidence based psychological practice to help individuals become 'unstuck', reconnect to their values and regain balance and wellbeing.  This is through individual therapy in a clinic in Sheffield, virtually and via work within school settings.

I pride myself in using a boundaried, sharing approach. A trauma informed, relational approach. I do not use an expert model, I always assume the person I work with is the expert in their own life. I have experienced trauma in my own life and have a diagnosis of ADHD, both of which particularly help me to relate with and support children and adults who may be neurodivergent or who have encountered adverse experiences.

Much of my work often centres upon:

  • connection to values

  • self-compassion

  • flexibility of thought

  • inner child and the importance of 'play'

  • Embodiment (body-mind connection)

  • Evidence-based psychological processes

I hold full registration with the Health and Care Professions Council (HCPC), the Association for Educational Psychologists (AEP) and am a member of the Association for Child and Adolescent Mental Health (ACAMH)

School Training

"Thank you again for the training tonight. It was relevant and timely and helps us to support everyone. This can be a challenging school to work in and sometimes people put themselves under too much pressure as they want to do a good job. It was really useful that you were able to tell them that it's ok not to be ok and that we all can feel like this at times. It was really useful for staff to hear and to have space to think spout the points you raised".

Rapid Response Trauma-Informed Therapy

"Thank you so much, it really has been a pleasure working with you. I have enjoyed and valued our time together. This has supported me not just for work purposes but also for my own personal growth.

The exercises I will revisit for myself but I will also be using these to help and support others in my working practice."

EP Assessment

" I’ve really enjoyed meeting and working with you to support my son. The report is brilliant and is going to really help him and his teachers. It is so useful to have the information about his needs moving forwards in year 6 and wherever he ends up next year." —
